They repainted the signs overnight

Two arenas have changed names, three events too, and a dozen runners woke up with a new identity. The house calls it "a clarification". Nobody was consulted.
The circuit is now called Monte-Chamo. The megacity has become Chamotronix. I asked why. I was told the old names "lacked bearing".
The events followed. The 100 Laps of the Paddock are now The 500 Miles of Chamopolis — five times longer, on paper. The Docks Circuit has become Running Cham. And the Night of Ostia, once held at the port, now takes place in Rome under the name Circus Chamaximus.
And the beasts in all this
Stranger still: runners have changed names. Bandelettos now answers to Chamomie. Old Toutanchamo goes by Chamses II. Shogun Chamurai has become Chamiyagi. Over at the Chamo Nostra, The Thin One and The Colossus have traded their nicknames for Tootie Quanti and Big Cham.

I checked the ledgers: the odds haven't moved by a hundredth. Which rather proves the house knows exactly who is who.
